5 Best Backpacking Breakfasts

best breakfast for outdoor and backpacking

I met Katie, blogger from Trees and Tents, through a local California female backpacking group. And as it turns out, she's local to San Francisco as well! I just love connecting with like minded women who are ALSO in my neighborhood. Does it get much better?!

Katie took our Citrus Chia Morning Bowl on her latest adventure to Joshua Tree, and in her words: "Breakfast is difficult for me. When I'm backpacking I want something quick, delicious, and filling so I don't feel hungry an hour later! I love that this breakfast rehydrates quickly with only 3 ounces of water. It is packed with fresh fruit and good-for-you ingredients without any preservatives or additives, and it tastes good. The bag even turns into a bowl so your hands won't get sticky while trying to scrape every last bit of goodness from the bottom of the bag."

As a fellow picky breakfast eater, I totally get that and I'm always on the hunt for good breakfast ideas as I really struggle with eating in the morning. So, naturally, I was thrilled when Katie mentioned that she was working with fellow female bloggers to create a list of their favorite breakfast meals!

And our Citrus Chia Morning Bowl was included! Check out Katie's article on the 5 Best Backpacking Breakfasts if you're looking for breakfast inspiration :)

Now, as a self-proclaimed coffee addict, I’ll admit that criteria #1 completely depends on the quality and freshness of the coffee beans and what your taste for coffee is. I like a black mug of joe from medium to light roasted beans.
