If you're located in the San Luis Obispo area, then your search for high quality, nutritionally dense adventure meals just got a bit easier! Bushka meals are now carried in store at The Mountain Air located at 667 Marsh St in San Luis Obispo!
Nutritionist Aimee K. Hockett, MS interviews our founder, Deana Del Vecchio about her inspiration for starting Bushka’s Kitchen. We discuss how we got started with freeze drying and the health benefits of choosing freeze dried meals as your next instant meal option.
I'm hit with a deluge of questions when I discuss how Bushka meals are made. Many people are surprised when I explain that our freeze dried meals are actually made in house - by us - from A to Z. Meaning, we source our ingredients from both farmers and local distributors; we scratch cook all the ingredients into meals; we own our equipment and freeze dry the food in our commercial kitchen; and finally, we hand fill each pouch to make the individual meals. I'm not going to lie... it's a lot of steps (and a lot of permits!)
Fall ushers in a big push to spreading the news about our utterly delicious freeze-dried meals. But don't just believe my word that Bushka meals are drool worthy. We've been featured in the September issue of Out There Outdoors, and I think the product reviews are a testament to our obsession with quality and taste.
The review focuses on two of our products: the Unstuffed Italian Pepper and the Pork Harvest Bowl.
Bushka's Kitchen will be participating in KITCHENTOWN's latest event, a blind tasting night located at The Archery. If you're local and a foodie, then this is not an event to be missed! Come support local businesses, meet community creatives, and give your thoughts on some delicious food to help emerging brands grow.
