Gather ‘round, hunters and gatherers — gourmet wild boar is today’s featured feast. This hearty bowl of provisions is brimming with chunks of seasoned wild boar, creamy mushroom and onion brown basmati rice risotto, chopped apple, and fresh green beans. Butter and a touch of cream elevate this meal to comfort food levels. Just add water — can you believe it?
To eat, add 12 oz boiling water to the pouch. Eat up!

I really enjoyed this meal. Had great flavor and definitely filled me up without making me feel bloated/stuffed. Definitely will buy again.
I took this meal with me when I went to an Acro-Yoga festival (back when we could have them!). For the festival, a few of us were renting out a tiny house that didn't have much by way of a kitchen. I had packed this Harvest Bowl to share with my friends around the campfire, and they all loved it! We enjoyed the hunks of boar combined with the apple flavor. It was heavenly.
Disclosure: I don't eat red meat but bought this for my partner, so it's his review. "Delicious" and "very good" were the first words he shared. He is mostly vegetarian and doesn't always like pork products so that's high praise.
I will not lie. I have been looking forward to this one. Who puts wild boar in a backpacking meal? The photo for this one might not look as "nice" as the others because I prepped this one while camping at Fort Washington State Park. The meal is delicious and packed with veggies. Everything in this meal cooked up to near perfection, the green beans weren't soggy but weren't dry either-- to be honest I have a hard time cooking fresh green beans as well as these came out. Not only did the ingredients have the right texture but the flavor was excellent as well. The nutritional profile for this meal was also pretty solid with 30grams of protein and only 570mgs of sodium (that is really good for a dehydrated meal). I expect great things from my next Bushka's Kitchen meal and will definitely try more meals from them in the future. The only drawback to Bushka's Kitchen meals is that they are only available directly from their website so can be costly if you only buy one meal at a time-- they often run deals for free shipping so I plan to stock up when I buy or use free shipping to keep the cost per meal down.
I had the old version of this meal (not mushroom risotto) on a backpacking trip last weekend, and I can honestly it was the most flavorful freeze dried meal I've ever had. I was sad when I scooped out the last bite, but also didn't feel heavy after eating it all. I'm not a mushroom fan, so I'm disappointed that the old version with wild rice and brussels sprouts is no longer available. Bring it back!!
