I was delighted when I opened the pouch I could smell the Arroma of the fresh Herbs and apples used in the dish. After I added the water and let it sit for the amount of time alotted in the instructions I stired it and let it sit for a minute more..This was a tasty meal. I could tast the chucnks of cucumber and apple. It has a nice sweet and tart blend that just has you going back for more. I really enjoyed this and it was simple cold soak with not that much water...Highly reccomend..
Loved how fresh the Lentil Lunch tasted! Not bland like so many other back packing meals. Strongly suggest this one if you like Greek food! It had that sort of vibe to it. My new favorite! There was a very slight crunch to the lentils but didn't mind that at all and rather enjoyed the textures.
Even with longer soaking time (at sea level), the lentils were crunchy but pleasant once I adjusted my texture expectation. Great flavor!
Perfect when you are on the trail, want to take a longer lunch, and need the protein and calories! Felt like having real food amid the granola and trail mix ;-)
It was crunchy until I let it sit and soak for about 10 more minutes. It was a Good meal.
I thought that I would like the same dish without onions. They tended to overwhelm the taste of the lentils.
